First Aid Training

This First Aid training is for Third Sector Organisations operating in East Dunbartonshire. The training is the certified Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (1 day) and will be delivered by First Response Training.

The training will be at the EDVA office in Kirkintilloch; lunch and refreshments will be provided (please indicate any dietary requirements when booking).

Learning Objectives:

• Describe your actions in an emergency

• Demonstrate the management of the unresponsive casualty

• Demonstrate adult resuscitation including use of the AED

• Explain the management of adult choking, shock, sepsis and stroke

• Describe how deal with heart attack, wounds and bleeding

• Explain the treatment of seizures and burns

Please Note: All learners attending a first aid course which covers practical CPR skills must be physically able to demonstrate practical CPR elements on the floor in order to receive a certificate of competence. Learners who cannot demonstrate practical elements may fail the course; if they are able to accurately explain the theory of practical CPR, they may receive a certificate of attendance only, but will not be deemed competent.
