What we do
Third Sector Interface
What is a Third Sector Interface?
There are 32 TSIs in Scotland corresponding to the 32 local authorities. EDVA is the TSI for East Dunbartonshire.
TSIs will work with all third sector organisations operating in their area. The third sector includes all voluntary and community based organisations, social enterprises and co-operatives which are non-profit making bodies. They range in size from large UK national organisations to Scotland wide entities down to small local community groups, associations and self-help groups.
The main purpose of TSIs is to provide support, help, expertise and assistance to third sector organisations and community groups by providing a single point of contact for such organisations and groups.
TSIs play a vital role in ensuring that the third sector and community groups are integral to improved planning and delivery of services resulting in better, more coordinated outcomes for local communities and organisations, including improved connections between local partners such as local authorities and health and social care partnerships and local third sector organisations. In addition, TSIs can develop and provide opportunities for community groups and organisations to represent themselves and others on local forums and planning bodies.
