EDVA 2024 Conference & AGM

EDVA’s annual conference and & AGM was held on the 8th of October; a huge thank you to all of the speakers & contributors and everyone who came along on the day!

Naomi Mason from the Centre for Local Economic Strategies (CLES) spoke about how community wealth building can help to make the economy work for our communities and how the third sector can play an essential role in this. Rachel Le Noan, Policy & Public Affairs Officer at SCVO, explored what is the value of the 3rd Sector to the economy and how it really is the essential sector. The slides from both of these presentations can be viewed below as well as some further useful links.

EDVA Chief Officer Ann Innes also gave an overview of the 3rd sector in East Dunbartonshire; the important role it plays; future opportunities and some of the challenges being faced by the sector. We also heard from some third sector organisations operating in East Dunbartonshire including the Choose Change Programme, Playlist for Life and Walk Run Cycle East Dunbartonshire, as well as seeing video’s of the Hive in Lennoxtown and the EDVA ASN (Additional Support Needs) Network.
