Whole Families Wellbeing Fund

In July 2022, the Scottish Government announced allocation of £500 million Whole Family Wellbeing Funding nationally as part of its commitment to support implementation of the findings of the Independent Care Review. The conclusion of the review was The Promise - a clear statement of what needs to change to support the lives and wellbeing of our children, young people, adults and families across Scotland.

The Whole Family Wellbeing Fund aims to ensure that every family that needs support gets the right family support at the right time, to fulfil children’s rights to be raised safely in their own families, for as long as it is needed.

The aim is to shift investment towards early intervention activities, to ensure families can access support before they reach crisis point.

East Dunbartonshire Council Community Planning Partnership will use funding to develop a range of universal, targeted and specialist services offering help and support to families.

The fund will provide support across a range of areas, including:

  • child and adolescent mental and physical health

  • promoting Children and Young People’s Rights

  • keeping children safe

  • addressing the Cost-of-Living Crisis and Child Poverty

A multi-agency steering group has been established to plan supports
