Keynote Speaker: Graeme Reekie, The Lasting Difference

Graeme Reekie is a founder of The Lasting Difference and since 2006 has been helping people to embed sustainability thinking into their organisation. Although often used to talk about environmental issues, The Lasting Difference defines sustainability more broadly, as the capacity (of an organisation, service or system) to make a lasting difference. They have identified 5 capabilities that support organisational stability and have created resources that help organisations to examine themselves in relation to these and identify actions from those findings. Come along and find out more, and how thinking about these capabilities can help your organisation.

Plenary Sessions

1. EDVA and the Third Sector in East Dunbartonshire - Ann Innes (EDVA Chief Officer)

Ann will talk about EDVA’s key areas of work, challenges for TSI’s and the wider sector, and report on the findings of our recent research with our members and the wider third sector about their engagement with us.

2. Buddy (Supported) Volunteering - Lorraine Moir (EDVA Senior Development Officer)

Workshops (sign up on the day)

1. Communities Mental Health & Wellbeing Fund for Adults Year 3 – Knowing your outcomes

The Communities Mental Health & Wellbeing Fund for Adults supports community-based projects which promote and develop good mental health and wellbeing. Year 3 of the Fund is currently open to applications. This workshop will explore setting outcomes for your project and how to know if these outcomes have been met. Does this always need to be a chore at the end of the project, or is it possible to make this part of the day to day delivery? This workshop will be suitable for organisations who are applying to year 3 of the fund but also anyone interested in setting outcomes for their project and evaluating these.

2. Volunteering Action Plan – What is it?

Knowing that you made a positive impact on someone is an emotionally uplifting experience that can never be matched by money or fame. Volunteering is important for numerous reasons that benefit both the community and the volunteer themselves. When someone donates a handful of time, the difference made is tremendous and it shapes a community for the better while the experience improves the person who donated the time. Join this workshop to discuss ,who gets to benefit from this experience – a select few or everyone?
