East Dunbartonshire Information, Collaboration & Education around ASN
This network was formed in January 2023 due to the high demand for community support as CAMHS waiting lists increased. This network is run quarterly and the next dates can be found on HERE. Our network runs in partnership with the Local Area Co-ordinators
The network is for organisations and statutory sector not for individuals, however the groups listed in the ASN orgnisation tab below can be contacted by individuals and carers.
Our EDICE network is represented on the Autism Strategic partnership and has fed into the local consultations.
Navigating the world can be difficult for some, add in the confusion, questions and uncertainty about the future, specifically when dealing with a diagnosis of autism, can make life more stressful. If you or someone you care for has begun the process for an autism assessment, you may be placed on a waiting list.
However while you are awaiting the assessment, there are still a number of local organisations which can offer support.
Having the correct support is important to thrive; for some, it can be more difficult than others. We are committed to making sure the community have the most up-to-date information available. These links are made with organisations, local area coordinators, parent and carer support and ASN Activities that are happening in the local EastDunbartonshire area.
The Local Area Co-ordinators also offer one-to-one support and aid people with a diagnosis of Autism and/or mild learning disability, and can support people in their transition from secondary school by consistently supporting the person and their families when they try to navigate what comes next for them in their lives
This ASN Activity List is designed to highlight activities that support people and families with ASN within the East Dunbartonshire area. The Activity List also contains contact information, websites and descriptions on the local activities so that you can get a bite-sized understanding of what is happening.
The ASN Newsletter is aimed at providing updates at a glance, providing dates for your diary, opportunities available, and local updates, and plenty of information that may be useful,
